About me

My name is Denise, I am 69 years old a born again christian I have 6 children 29 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and my beautiful cat twinkle, (who likes to supervise making sure I am doing the job well.)

I find sewing very therapeutic it helps take my mind off the constant pain. My journey started during lockdown making protective clothing for the NHS after they put a call out for help.

This progressed to making baby positioning straps to help stop babies getting flat head at one side by constantly laying on the same side at the request of NICU James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough after my grandson was born at 23 weeks.

The shringe driver bags I make are for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment to enable the patients to move around.

My mission

Denise's Blessings Charity Sewing makes a difference in West Yorkshire. I use Poly-cotton or Cotton for all items I make, such as baby positioning straps, syringe driver bags for cancer patients, bonding hearts for both mum and baby in NICU. I have also made drawstring bags & pencil cases for the Buddy Bag Foundation Charity for children fleeing domestic violence.

Our hopes for the future

I purchase all fabric and thread myself. My hope for the future is to continue mankind and donating items, blessing people. Making a difference one stitch at a time in West Yorkshire.
